Position-Database Administrator

Overview
Create and maintain databases; provide ongoing, on-demand network, hardware, and software support to Amtech's employees, as well as Amtech's customers.

Technical Expertise
Requirements: general understanding of database architecture and configuration, backup and recovery principles, performance tuning and diagnostics; knowledge of NT. Front-end third party tools integration experience. Familiarity with SQL Server and Centura database products, data modeling experience, web design, NT networking are a plus.

Major Activities
Responsible for database operations administration, security administration, object administration, space management, and server installation. In operations, performing functions such as backup and recovery, database consistency checking, loading, and unloading data. Oversees and performs database installation and the configuring of database parameters including configuring transaction logging (e.g., logical and physical log files), shared memory, number of server processes, etc. Schedules and performs upgrades to database.
