RFID

Estimated Release Date: Q1 2012
RFID Technology can provide the solution to the challenge of delivering cost effective Just-in-Time (JIT) service.  By equipping remote warehouses and forklifts with RFID capabilities for tracking and auditing customer product consumption, you can simultaneously automate the invoicing process creating a paperless cash flow system.  The RFID Integrated Technology components are comprised of passive RFID tags and Reader Gates or Portals.  As forklifts pull product through the Gates or Portals a Message Board provides visual confirmation of the transaction.  Inventory usage is then recorded and processed by your business system.  Forklifts at the remote warehouse are also outfitted with a simple RFID tag used to identify the item when involved in an Inventory pull through the Gates or Portals.  Similarly, your own forklifts are recorded in the same manner when replenishing inventory.

The proper branding and marketing of this technology managed JIT service will increase business, revenues, and customer satisfaction.  More critically it will create a barrier to entry for your competitors making your business stand out from the crowd.

Pictorial Process Flow - JIT
At Supplier Manufacturing Facility

Pre-print and place bar coded load tags on each pallet/unit. Product can optionally be tagged just for a specific customer and destination.

Machine Operator scans Bar Code Ticket Number using wedge type scanner.  Units are then recorded as finished goods.

Product destined for warehousing or shipment is scanned and a RFID label tag is printed associated to the scanned ticket number.

Operator retrieves the RFID label and applies it to the matching product

Fixed reader station to verify proper placement of RFID tag occurs. The results are reported back to Operator and a Digital Message Board showing the transaction is displayed.

Supplier transports the finished tagged units and loads them onto trailers.  This is considered the starting point of warehouse transfer.  Existing RF Warehouse Management System - like Amtech's Top Gun module - records the movement and product drop onto a trailer.

At Remote Warehouse Facility

Supplier runs their own warehouse management system with WAN coverage.  Forklifts have RFID tags adhered to ID them as they drive through the Gates or Portals.
Supplier unloads Truck passing through the RFID gate. RFID is verified and the transaction is recorded in the clients system.  Message Board   good/bad will trigger further action if necessary by driver.
Supplier Driver puts away inventory and records its location through their warehouse management system using the bar code tags. This completes the Warehouse transfer placing the product in Consignment Warehouse.
Customers empty Forklift enters the RFID Gate and the reader processes and identifies it through its RFID tag.  The system records each entry & exit through the gate - with or without product.
Customer Enters or Exits Gate With Product.  Transaction is recorded with Fork ID, Ticket Number, Timestamp, Gate/ReaderID. Driver notified with Good/Bad Read signal. Transaction is sent to clients system for procesing.

At Supplier ERP System

Transactions are received throughout specified billing period as Customers remove product from remote Warehouse. Transactions are grouped by product on one Delivery Receipt recording the quantity used, by product.
When a specified Billing cycle time has elapsed the currently open Delivery Receipt is closed out and posted to be Invoiced. The closing out of the delivery Document will also send an email to a specified recipient at the Customers location.
If Customer flagged for Invoice review the Supplier Invoicing personnel reviews information and continues Invoicing process. The billing cycle is restarted for additional warehouse transactions.
Invoices are Generated and Accounts Receivable is Recorded. Remote product moved back into inventory.  Prior billed remains Customer property until addressed if necessary through returns processing.
Optionally customer can be set up for auto or attended invoicing via email.
