To read the bar codes, we utilize Symbol Technologies long-range
scanners.
These gun shaped devices can scan bar codes up to
40 feet away. The forklift scanners can be tethered to
eliminate damage or loss and provide convenience for
the forklift driver.
e-MOBILIZING YOUR PLANT
When Amtech's engineers designed the Top Gun system, they ensured that
the system was easy to use from a mechanical standpoint. In addition, it
was developed in a logical method that reflects the existing day to day
activities of forklift drivers and plant personnel. The graphical screens
guide the users through the process of picking orders, loading trailers,
moving units and warehouse transfers. "The technology makes the system
easy to use. Within a week, our forklift drivers were fully trained and
using the entire system." states Tom Shallow, Jr. of Fitzpatrick Container
in North Wales, Pennsylvania.
Imaginera's truck loading system creates the plan for the units to be loaded
on the trucks. The plan is passed to Top Gun, directing the forklift
operators to load the trailers. The process is simple. The forklift
driver scans the unit's bar code license plate. The system then directs the
driver to load the unit on a
